Tour Description:

Experience the Grand Canyon at sunset!  Whatever you do, bring your camera.  This tour allows time to watch the sunset paint the canyon walls. The sun dropping below the rim is only half of the show; the colors making their way up the canyon as the sun sets are unforgettable. You’ll watch the transition while sitting on the edge of the canyon.

No crowded groups here.  Small groups (no more than seven) are led by our expertly trained guides who are also Wilderness First Responders.  More than that, they are master storytellers who will share the fascinating story behind the naming of Hermit Trail, the Orphan Mine and its intrepid workers, and the famous woman architect who designed the Hermits Rest structure in the early 1900s.

Your “backstage pass” to a three hour, fully narrated adventure features Yavapai Point, historic Grand Canyon Village and a hike at Hermits Rest.

Your first stop will be Yavapai Point, which offers the largest geological exposure of Grand Canyon rock layers. The rim to river views are spectacular, as are views of Phantom Ranch, South Kaibab and Bright Angel Trails. You’ll learn about park history, including Phantom Ranch, mule rides and the geology of the area.  El Tovar, Hopi House, and historic Grand Canyon Village are the next stop. Guides will share stories about the national park and the pioneer origin of the Village.

The drive to Hermits Rest is the most scenic view of the Grand Canyon. Our expert guides will take guests down below the rim to view marine fossil beds along the way. On your hike, you’ll be able to view Hermit Rapids from the rim as well as landmarks in the canyon, including the former Hermit Camp. Then it’s back to Hermits Rest gift shop for souvenirs, snacks and water.

This tour includes a hike on a rocky, unmaintained path below the rim.  The Imax movie, “The Hidden Secrets,” is included after your tour.

Almost too short! Jason's knowledge was superior. He made it fun, entertaining, and offered some personal favorites to explore on our own away from crowds (244 mile marker) which was fabulous. We were very impressed.

Great tour. I do not think we could have packed anything else into the day, there was literally no wasted time. The box lunches were great too. The truck was really neat.

Eliminates the need to go on your own to find the best views of the canyon. Sam took us to the best spots!

Great way to see the Grand Canyon. Our tour guide, Sam, was awesome and very knowledgeable. Took a ton of pictures of us we wouldn't have had if we went on our own. My husband was able to enjoy the sights without the stress of driving.

It was more than we expected. We experienced the Grand Canyon in a way we would have never been able to on our own in a short amount of time.

Sheila, 27 Mar 2017

It was even more than we expected - what we did, what we learned, and having Sam as a guide!

Very friendly guide with lots of good stories. Duff had a great understanding of the cannon, or at least had us fooled. Very respectful of the group and allowing us to get the most out of the day.

We took the tour on our 25th wedding anniversary. Ted was the perfect guide; entertaining and so knowledgeable. I was able to ask questions while walking around and he knew everything: history, ecology, political, natural ... he was so nice and we have already recommended your company and Ted to friends. Your vehicles are fantastic; the tour and our entire experience was first rate!
